Arrest made following theft of caravan from farm

Yesterday afternoon we received a report of a theft of a caravan from a farm in Greenhalgh, Kirkham🏡

The metal chain securing the gates to the farm had been cut off and the tracker within the caravan removed.

Fylde Rural Task Force conducted ANPR enquiries, confirming the stolen caravan had been hooked up to the back of a vehicle and travelled out of area📍

It transpires the vehicle and stolen caravan were swapped onto cloned plates after the offence.

The team circulated the vehicle and it was swiftly stopped by @North Yorkshire Police  this afternoon with another stolen caravan in tow🚔

Within the vehicle were a further set of cloned plates and an angle grinder.

A male, aged 40, of no fixed abode has been arrested on suspicion of theft, going equipped, possession of an offensive weapon, no licence and no insurance. The vehicle has also been seized✅

The male remains in custody awaiting interview.
